From the Anhalter Bahnhof (once the biggest in Berlin) only a fragment of the entrance hall is standing.

While there I was thinking about the Anhalter, which certainly was the largest station in Berlin prior to the end of the Second World War, during an era when there really couldn’t be a single “main station” in any large European capitol.
If the new Berlin Hauptbahnhof-Lehrter Bahnhof is successor to any station it’s the Anhalter, but I should at least have put the name Anhalter Bahnhof in quotation marks.
